"It is all my fault ...
A tear slips from Ariel's eyes that are as blue as the sea as she
observes Eric who lays on the beach lifelessly.
Yes, it is all my fault ... Why did I insist on this stupid dream of
becoming human? Why didn't I listen to my father and understand that
I was only a child?
Yes, she's still a child ... A sixteen-year old girl whose body had
just finished forming ... A child, because she didn't understand
that there were limits and that life did not follow the path she
wanted it to follow ... a fool ...
She looks at her tail with disgust ... Why did she still feel as
if she was in the wrong place? Her red hair on her back and the the
sun is enlightening her face.

... She cries harder, not caring if someone is around watching her.

I first saw you, I simply knew it ... And this love made me
inconsequent ... I know that I have done some things without
thinking, but this was the worst ... and at the same time the best,
because I don't regret the moments I spent with you. It's the other
way round, I love all of them ... Even if I couldn't speak, even if
I couldn't understand the things of this, your world, a new world

Far away, Triton watches his daughter crying with disgust and
looking at Eric's inanimate body. With a movement of his trident a
golden light invades the water and makes its way to Ariel. She looks
at her tail and the tears that are now streaming down her face are
tears of happiness.

Ariel descends the rock she has been sitting on while Eric awakes
and gets up. She emerges from the waters of the sea wearing a dress
that is as blue as the water and shines in the sun. She runs to meet
his arm and their lips meet for a kiss of true love ... the kiss she
has been longing for ever since they first met, the kiss that was
the condition for her staying human ... and now she can ... The
loving couple is happier than ever.
In the afternoon the white ship where the two of them married and
started their life together can be seen from far away where the
merfolk and the people on earth lived together in harmony for many
years.
